Performance - The Microcom DeskPorte FASTV.fast modem gets double the throughput of V.32bis modems to 28.8 Kbps, cutting annual line charges and increasing user productivity. Microcom's parallel port interface, along with V.42bis data compression, provide true 115.2 Kbps V.fast performance by rerouting the data stream through your PC's high-speed parallel port. Other high-speed modems may require costly PC serial port retrofits, especially for Windows-based applications. The DeskPorte FAST supports MNP 10, the de facto standard for high performance data communications under all conditions,
including cellular. MNP, Microcom Networking Protocol is an industry standard with over 15 million modems worldwide incorporating MNP. Investment Protection - The DeskPorte FAST is designed with flash downloadable memory, allowing software upgrades and enhancements to be downloaded via floppy disk or through the Microcom BBS.
