For device
manufacturers looking to network-enable their products, DSTni™ (Device
Server Technology Network Interface) is a family of single chip solutions that
allow devices, appliances and equipment to be remotely monitored and controlled
over shared networks, including Ethernet and the Internet.
At Last, Everything in One Chip
All of the DSTni family
members include an enhanced 80186 processor, on-chip memory, integrated
peripherals, and communications controllers to support the most popular
networks - including Ethernet. For simple, standalone applications, DSTni
devices can be used as the primary processor in a system, in more complex
applications, they can function as network coprocessors.

For basic designs, all
that's needed in addition to DSTni is a couple of crystals/oscillators, a
serial E²PROM, communications transceiver(s) and a power supply. With the
lowest parts count design for embedded networking applications, integration
complexity is minimized, resulting in rapid product development and the
quickest time to market.
Since no device
networking application is complete without software, we offer all of the
required software and tools to speed development and reduce integration
hassles. From the robust SuperTask! RTOS and comprehensive USNET TCP/IP
protocol suite, that have been pre-integrated and optimized for the DSTni
platform, to complementary development hardware and tools, we have everything
you need.
